Laser hair removal can rid you of the pain and inconvenience of shaving and waxing. It is also a great solution to remove unwanted hair that grows in areas such as the back, shoulders, chest, or belly. Laser is an effective method to remove facial hair as well as body hair for both men and women.
But how does laser eliminate hair permanently?
Laser hair removal works by beaming a high concentrated light directed to the hair follicles, The pigment in the follicles absorb the light, which in its turn (breaks down) the hair and prevents it from regrowing after a number of sessions.
Don’t mix them up! Laser VS. electrolysis.
While electrolysis treatment uses heat to destroy one hair at a time, laser is capable of treating areas like the under-pits in just 10 minutes.
Our practitioners are skilled and our machines are FDA- approved.
OUR VERY OWN TRAINING CENTER:
Before handling a laser machine, each practitioner goes through an intensive training process. The first is obtained at Silkor’s state of art training facility, to be followed by a training course offered by the manufacturer of the laser machines utilized in our centers.
Also, a licensed dermatologist acts as a medical director following up on all treatments. She is assigned to oversee the medical staff and to asses their competence.
TO EACH HIS VERY OWN LASER HAIR REMOVAL MACHINE.
Many laser hair removal centers have a “one machine fits all” mindset, while we operate differently, and believe that every patient must have a customized experience that fits his\her concerns. For that reason, we made available at Silkor laser and medical center FDA- approved machines that fit different skin types and hair color.
STATE OF THE ART MACHINE FOR A CUSTOMIZED EXPERIENCE:
1- Diode laser*: Designed to remove thick coarse facial hair and body hair on all shades of skin color.
2-Alexandrite laser (Cynosure®): Optimal for patients that have white skin and dark hair. Due to its specialization it’s usually used only in 15% to 20% of our cases.
3- ND:Yag (Lumenis One™, Altus®) : It has the ability to penetrate deeply with minimal scattering of laser energy. This makes ND:YAG ideal for all skin types, especially dark and tanned skin.
* (Lumenis Lumenis One™, Lumenis LightSheer™, Lumenis Light Sheer® DUET™)
LASER HAIR REMOVAL AT SILKOR IS PRECISE AND EFFECTIVE!
The device is created to specifically and selectively target the darker hair while leaving the surrounding brighter area intact. For that reason, it is very effective in removing hair in small areas like the upper lip, beard, or bikini.
Men most commonly benefit from laser hair removal to shape their beard or for removing and thinning of hair. However, most of our male clientele benefit from Full body hair removal or a “swimmer’s body”.
How does hair stop growing from treated areas?
Usually, you’ll notice hair in treated areas starting to fall out right after your session. But in some cases, it can take up to two weeks for the hair to fall off. You can speed up this phase by rubbing gently the treated area with a washcloth or sponge four to five days after your treatment.
It doesn't have to be costly or to hurt too much!
How much does laser hair removal cost?
Prices are usually given per area per session or as a flat fee. Also patients can benefit multiple area and multiple treatment discounts.
How much pain will I feel during a laser hair removal session?
On average people describe a feeling of moderate stinging or tingling. However, some areas are more sensitive than others, hence it might hurt more to remove underarms hair than that on the arms.
On the other hand, pain is relative to every person, if you usually feel pain more than average during waxing or plucking then you’ll probably hurt a bit more during a laser hair removal session.
But if you have a sensitive skin or are not ready to handle the pain:
We at silkor offer you the option to apply a topical anesthetic cream. Also a lot of patients report feeling less pain, during LHR, after applying a cooling device that numbs the skin, reduces swelling, enhances healing and (prompts) safety.

IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL PERMANENT?
New technologies are capable of giving permanent removal for both woman and man with different skin and hair types.
HOW MANY SESSIONS DOES IT NEED TO ACHIEVE A SMOOTH SKIN?
While most patients require 3 to 5 sessions of Laser treatment, it is usually relative to every case. For instance it take less sessions to remove hair from small surface areas.
DO I HAVE TO SHAVE MY FACIAL HAIR BEFORE MY LASER SESSION?
With the new advancements in the field of laser hair removal, you are not required to remove hair with a razor before treating facial areas. Also you don't have to leave your body hair to get fully grown.
IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL MADE FOR EVERYONE?
Laser hair removal will not work on white, grey, light red or light blond hair follicles. Women with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), may experience poor results unless they receive medical support along with the laser treatment.
WILL MY SKIN GET IRRITATED DURING TREATMENT?
The treated area might get slightly red, but it won't last for long. You can go on with your day normally after your treatment.
WHEN WILL I START SEEING RESULTS?
You will start seeing results after your very first session. And you will notice all through your treatment that hair in treated areas are dwidling and hair pores are disappearing.
Here's OUR TREATEMENT PROTOCOl:

Some tips that can help you with the healing process
Always remember, to use sunscreen SPF 50 on the treated areas at all times. Splash the treated area with cold water often and apply soothing cream. Avoid rubbing, scratching, saunas and hot showers for 24-48 hours and again, avoid getting exposed to the sun.
One day before your treatment:
- Remove Henna on treated areas one day prior to your session.
- Shave all areas except your face at least one day before your treatment.
After your treatment
You might experience redness in the treated areas similar to that of a sunburn, after your session. This is normal and temporary and usually fades away over the next few hours.
