    About the Service

Are you suffering from excess or sagging upper arm skin? Significant weight loss and aging are the main reasons behind it. Exercise and a healthy diet can help to increase muscle tone and overall strength of the upper arms but it does not address the issue of skin that is sagging due to a loss of elasticity, nor can it correct the problem of fat deposits in the upper arm region. That’s why an arm lift surgery, also known as Brachioplasty, is a safe & great option for a firmer and contoured upper arm area, where excess skin and fat are removed from between the armpit and elbow. As for the results of the surgery, they are long lasting if you follow a proper diet and exercise routine.

Who can have an arm lift?

    • Men & women
    • Must be at a stable weight
    • Committed to a healthy diet and lifestyle
    • Have realistic expectations regarding the outcome of the surgery

Things you should know before and after the surgery

The arm lift surgery is performed under local or general anesthesia and requires a maximum of 2 hours of your time. During your consultation with Silkor’s plastic surgeon, you will discuss your medical history. Be completely open with him about your concerns, habits and expectations. He may take photos and measurements of your upper arm and talk with you about the best possible treatment for your case to achieve your goal. Your doctor might, delay your surgery if you are pregnant or you have certain conditions like diabetes or heart issues and the surgery is not recommended if you are overweight. He will also give you several instructions and guidelines to get ready for the surgery such as maintaining a healthy diet, exercising regularly, stop smoking few weeks before the surgery and avoid anti-inflammatory drugs or medicines having aspirin so that the risk of excess bleeding is reduced.

In order to have successful long-lasting results after the arm lift operation, it is important to follow the instructions below:

    •  You need 1 – 2 weeks for recovery post-surgery so you will have restricted arm movements and will not be able to lift anything heavy. Your arm will feel sore and it’s preferable to take bed rest for a couple of days after the surgery.
    • Small, thin tubes may be temporarily placed under the skin during the surgery to drain any excess blood or fluid that may collect, which will be removed in 2 to 5 days.
    • Avoid physical and athletic activities that might stretch the incisions for few weeks.
    • You will be asked to wear a compression garment for several days
    • Contact your doctor immediately if you experience shortness of breath, chest pains, an irregular heartbeat or redness of the skin and a high fever.
    • It is important to attend follow-up appointments with your doctor to keep track of your progress.
    • Take prescribed medicines to relieve pain
    • You have to take into consideration that the results might not be clear right after the surgery due to swelling and the scar on the area where the incision was made will remain.
