Age can take its toll on the elasticity of the eyelid skin, as a result, fat and excess skin can gather in that location causing the formation of droopy upper lids and therefore affecting the vision.

Blepharoplasty or upper eyelid surgery can resolve these problems while giving you a youthful look, by taking care of the extra skin.

    A Wider Perspective

Before you embark on this eye-opening journey, you will have to undergo a consultation with our plastic surgeons in order to check if you’re a candidate for this operation.
    Most candidates should be:

    • Healthy with no medical problems
    • Non-smokers
    • No previous eye-related problems or conditions

    The Procedure

The whole surgery is an in-and-out procedure, where patients are advised to stay until they are completely recovered, however some of them go home on the same day.
It all depends on the speed of healing the patient’s body undergoes.

    Post- Surgery

You may experience some swelling, bruising, irritation, and dry eyes that can be controlled with medication. Your head should be kept elevated for several days, since eyelids may feel tight and sore as the anesthesia wears off. The use of cold compresses to reduce swelling and bruising, is highly advised. Sutures will be removed one week after surgery, unless advised otherwise by the plastic surgeon.

Maintenance appointments are required to track the recovery process with your doctor.

Most eyelid surgery results are long lasting; however, you will continue to age naturally.
Bear in mind, that following the surgeon’s instructions has a great impact on the success of the surgery and the healing process.

You will notice results after 4 to 6 weeks, as the scars start fade to a nearly invisible white line.
