There are various treatments that pertain to “vaginal rejuvenation” and labiaplasty one of them. Not one procedure is like the next, each one treats a certain case – with labiaplasty it specifically aims to decrease the size of the inner tissues of the female genitalia.
However, all this will be discussed during your consultation with the plastic surgeon.

There are many reasons females have enlarged labia, such as:
– Childbirth
– Aging
– Sexual activity
– Genetics.
Many females with an enlarged labia have difficulty exercising, struggle with hygiene, urinary tract infections, sexual and other physical activities. Not to mention, that most women feel self-conscience about their appearance in tight clothes.

Labiaplasty is an outpatient surgery. The procedure can be performed within an hour, either individually or with other cosmetic surgery. It can be performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia, depending on the treatment plan discussed with your plastic surgeon.

There are two types of labiaplasty surgeries and they both depend on the case to be treated.

Trim procedure: It is when the excess part of labia minora is removed and stitched to create symmetry with the labia majora.
Wedge procedure: It is when a partial thickness wedge is removed from the thickest part of the labia minora, thus giving the vagina a natural look.
