Sculptra® is injected beneath the skin by a trained medical professional. Its poly-L-lactic acid microparticles work by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production. Sculptra® is an injectable collagen stimulator made with poly-L-lactic acid. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, which primarily add volume directly, Sculptra® works by stimulating your body’s own collagen production.
Results develop gradually. Some patients begin to notice improvement from around one month after treatment, with further changes developing over the following months.
Most patients have 2–3 treatment sessions over the course of a few months. Your doctor will determine the appropriate number based on your individual treatment plan.
Results may last up to two years, although individual results can vary.

BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT
- Have a consultation with your doctor to discuss your goals and medical history.
- Inform your doctor about any medications, allergies or previous injectable treatments.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Follow any specific preparation instructions provided by your doctor.
AFTER YOUR TREATMENT
- Massage the treated areas as instructed by your doctor. The manufacturer’s general 5-5-5 guideline is 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days.
- Avoid excessive sun or heat exposure immediately after treatment.
- Avoid strenuous activity as advised by your doctor.
- Follow your doctor’s individual aftercare instructions.
Temporary swelling, tenderness, redness, bruising, pain or small lumps can occur after treatment. Contact your doctor if you have concerns about any reaction.
